Facebook can work really well for businesses big and small

If you’ve every asked anyone about Facebook pages you can check out and learn from, chances are they came back with names of big businesses like Coca-Cola, Red Bull or McDonalds.

But what about pages that have been created by small businesses?

Following on from an earlier article which highlighted four great examples of Facebook pages run by small businesses, here are another four top SME Facebook pages – and, in each one, the business has really thought about how Facebook can work for them

Kiddi Caru Day Nurseries To really give the impression that this is a page worth being a fan of, the people at nursery chain Kiddi Caru ensure messages are posted regularly and, as often as possible, the company updates parents on activities going on at the different nurseries. These updates include great pictures of the children having fun, so parents get a real insight into what’s happening day to day.

Thurlby Motors A franchised Vauxhall and Nissan dealership in Alford, Boston and Louth, Thurlby Motors does the bread-and-butter things well – such as making sure there are links to their social accounts on their main website – and the company has also put down in writing some ‘house rules’ for the page, which is always a good idea. But the people behind the page have put some real thought into making it work for them. When someone picks up a car, they are pictured with their new pride and joy, and this is uploaded to the page. If people share this image on their own personal profile, it’s a great way of increasing the reach of the page.

Little Monkey Little Madam To reward Facebook fans, Little Monkey Little Madam, which offers clothing, accessories and toys for babies and children, will often offer a special discount on the website. This is a real, solid reason to like the page. The business has also put some thought around regular page content – in particular, there is an ‘item of the week’ feature, promoting a toy or accessory for sale on the website, and other fun posts. These little touches help make this a vibrant page.

More 4 Mums Discount Maternity Wear There’s a great deal of variety when it comes to posts put out by More 4 Mums, a family-run business offering maternity and nursing bras, tops and accessories. There are offers in there, such as 10% off a product that’s on sale over on the website, and posts pointing fans in the direction of relevant competitions, news items and features around the web. By posting updates focusing on topics in the news, More 4 Mums gets to inject some of its own personality into these posts by offering an opinion or comment alongside them.
