Video content is continuing to play a key role in getting your message out there as well as helping optimise websites.  We have looked at the two most popular options in previous posts : YouTube and Vimeo.

It can be time consuming posting videos online due to slow connections, large files etc etc.  In some cases if you have 1080p HD video it can take a full day, I have tried this and it’s not a pleasant experience.  So what if you could distribute your video content through one central website to dozens of sites like YouTube and Vimeo?

This is actually possible with a service from TubeMogul, check them out.

The service is called OneLoad.

TubeMogul for SEO

This is a free service allowing content producers to seed their videos to the top video and social networking sites.  This includes Facebook, YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Blip.tv, metacafe and Twitter.  Not only can you post your video through one portal you can also track the performance of your content through their very own analytics suite.  This is similar to the tools available via YouTube analytics.

For the SME, this represents a convenient solution to posting to a large amount of sites generating quality backlinks to their main website.  Optimise your content once with good metadata and links, submit once and off you go!

It’s not all good news…

There is an argument against using this type of service as posting a text based article on multiple sites can be classed as spamming.  However, if you are monitoring your SEO efforts closely you should be able to make the right call.  It’s still early days for video SEO and Google still relies on the metadata to identify the actual played content.

I think this could be useful as part of a larger approach to SEO and not relied on solely.  SMEs needs to save as much time when it comes to marketing and focus efforts on generating content.
