Did you know 59% of senior executives said that if they were given text and video on the same topic, they’d rather watch the video? (Source: Digital Information World, 2016).

And I don’t blame them! Personally, I find that watching a video about a tough topic often serves to embed the information in my mind more solidly than reading. If the above statistic is anything to go by, I can’t be the only one. And as a professional marketer, I know just how dry marketing theory topics can be!

As we’ve already established on this very blog, I’m a major YouTube addict in both my professional and personal life. I know YouTube has a bit of a reputation as somewhere 12-year-olds go to catch up with their favourite vloggers, but there are also some great resources on there for business owners, marketers, and professionals of all kinds.

But before we get on with today’s list, be sure to check out our previous post “5 YouTube Channels for Digital Marketing Success” for more digital goodness.

So let’s get on with the list!

The Big Marketer (Darren Taylor)

The Big Marketer’s Channel

Darren is a very talented marketer and produces insightful videos about SEO, PPC, social media, content marketing, and generally raising your profile online. He’s had experience in working with huge corporations all the way down to the little guys, which shines through in his YouTube presence. So regardless of your company size or budget, I’m sure you’ll find something of value here.

Through Darren’s channel and blog, he offers level-headed, plain-speaking advice. I always find his videos easy to follow and understand, even on topics I’m not so well-versed in. Lately Darren has also been producing weekly SEO and PPC news roundup videos – a great opportunity to keep your ear to the ground in those fields, so I hope he keeps them up!

Neil Patel

Neil’s Channel

Seattle-based Neil Patel is a well-known digital marketing expert, and a prolific writer on the subject. In fact, he’s been touted as one of the web’s top influencers by the Wall Street Journal – so he knows what he’s talking about! Neil’s YouTube Channel is essential viewing for businesses of all kinds, even if you aren’t overly digitally inclined. As well as covering topics like SEO, social media, and growth hacking, he also shares candid behind the scenes advice about running a successful company; delving into subjects like corporate culture, motivation for business owners, and what to do when a business is struggling.

For more insightful marketing advice, check out the Marketing School podcast that Neil hosts with fellow marketer Eric Siu. They release short but impactful episodes every single day.

Buffer

Buffer’s Channel

Buffer is a popular social media scheduling tool, but thankfully their YouTube channel isn’t just full of bumf about how to use their platform (a pet hate of mine for SaaS companies!). Over YouTube, the Buffer team share valuable information about social algorithms, video marketing, creating and posting graphical content, and generally how to make the most of your social media presence. The lengths of their videos run the gamut from 1-2 minute videos with handy snippets of information to full blown webinars; so you’ll be able to get something valuable from their channel, no matter how much time you have spare!

Video Influencers

Video Influencers’ Channel

As the name suggests, this is a channel for those who want to create video, and especially those who want to make waves on YouTube. Their videos cover topics like coming up with content ideas, creating a strong personal brand, building your tribe, as well as a few tangential topics like Facebook marketing and email list building.

Our guides Benji and Sean are successful marketers and business owners in their own right, but often welcome other expert creators on to their channel to share their wisdom. So if you’re looking at how to incorporate video into your marketing strategy, absolutely give this channel a watch!

Brian Dean (Backlinko)

Backlinko’s Channel

Brian Dean is a popular SEO boffin and the mastermind behind Backlinko. Inc Magazine called him “one of the world’s most sought-after SEO experts”, and he shares his search optimisation wisdom through the Backlinko Blog and his YouTube Channel. Unfortunately his channel isn’t updated too frequently and doesn’t contain quite as many videos as others on this list, but it’s still a valuable resource for SEO inspiration.

Brian’s videos usually clock in at around 10-20 minutes, offering an in-depth look at in-demand SEO topics like link building, keyword research, YouTube optimisation, and all of the cool things you can do to get more traffic and increase conversions.
